Ring-a-ling, Sting-my-bling

I've been back in the states from Japan for many a month now, and still haven't gotten a cell phone...

Maybe it's that I'm fearful of commitment.
Maybe it's that I'm just plain simple.
Or, maybe it's that I haven't been enticed by the right ring tone yet...

Because, really.... I'm a sucker for sound.

Give me a nice police siren sound as a ring tone with my "homies". Hit me with a bird-call ringer when my hiking peeps are feeling the natural silence. And, ring a fucked-up drumming bridge when chillers from the band are perfecting rhythmic continuity...

Then, maybe, just maybe....
I'll get a cell phone.

But, until then, I'm northward bound for a few days.
I'm catching a U-Haul truck with my father to bring Belgian furniture to my brother up in Oakland, Then, we'll see... Maybe I'll find the right ring tone there (I hear those San Francisco hippies have a lot of absurd sounds up their sleeves), and maybe I'll even sneak a blog post in between ring tone auditions...

Anyway... be back soon with cacophony for the circumspect cell phone owner!

Have a fun time in the Bay Area. Don't worry, in time, you'll find the ringtone that's just right for you - I promise.

Compose your own :-)

Talk about cellphones and tunes, my colleague has a phone that has a very wierd noise (aka ring tone), which IS supposed to be a baby's laff, it sounds more like a bunch of hyenas cackling togather. So this dude hates the tone (naturally) but finds that everytime he leaves his phone in his workstation the tone magically gets altered to the cackling baby/hyenas tone and also the volume to it's loudest (causing the occasional nervous breakdown in the office. This freak occurance still is being researched by the owner of the phone.

oh an unrelated piece of news is that I usually am around in town when this thing happen. wot a coincidence huh??

cell phones can be more trouble than they're worth...

My cell phone is great because it only rings when someone in my phonebook who I've assigned a ringtone calls. All wrong numbers, telemarketers, and people I just don't want to hear from are silenced before they even make a peep.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the good people at Nokia for their innovative filtering systems. Cheers!

dingobear- thanks for the encouragement. And, I think I've found my ringtone! It's the sound of a tree falling in the forest when no one's there to hear it. I may occassionally miss a call, but, overall, I like it!

rabin- I'm keeping you out of my workstations:) Cackling hyenas and myself don't really meld well :)

L- I know! I'm still holding out. Keep them luddite leanings alive!

anonymous- Que viva Nokia!
